How QR Codes with Logos Stay Scannable
QR codes include built-in error correction that allows them to be read even when part of the pattern is covered or damaged. There are four error correction levels — L, M, Q, and H — each capable of recovering a different percentage of the code if obscured.
When a logo is added to a QR code, the generator uses the highest error correction level (H), which can recover up to 30 percent of the code. This means a logo covering the center of the code does not prevent it from scanning, as long as the logo stays within safe size limits — generally no more than 30 percent of the total code area.
